Bangkok Post

The Post Publishing Public Company Limited is the publisher and distributor of the Bangkok Post - an English-language newspaper, Post Today - a Thai-language business Daily, and Student Weekly - an English-language magazine for high school and college students. The Company's news and information businesses in the last few years have been expanded to include electronic and digital media and www.jobjob.co.th, a job-matching engine on line. The Company also provides commercial printing services operated by Allied Partners.

The Bangkok Post itself has been established since 1946 keeping its commitment in the mission "We aim to be the best in the business of news and information in Thailand and the region, reaching out to the world." constantly throughout those years. The year 2007 was a year of change for the Bangkok Post. The size of the Newspaper was changed to make it slimmer and easier for their readers to enjoy. The change of size represented one of the most fundamental changes in the Bangkok Post's 60-year history. Amidst these changes, the Bangkok Post remains as committed as ever to maintaining its long-standing tradition of fair and balanced reporting based on the principles of honesty and integrity. The Bangkok Post will continue to improve both content and design to maintain the Newspaper's status as the leading English-language newspaper in Thailand and the country's premier window to the World.

In order for the Bangkok Post to remain effective and efficient in what they are "best" at, the Newspaper has contracted the services of M&C Energy Group, an independent consultant company specializing in energy and environmental services as well as cost-effective communication solutions. M&C Energy Group has been contracted to identify any areas of saving, with a particular focus on the area of telecoms bills - an area which is of primary importance to all newspapers.

After thorough audit and analysis of the Bangkok Post's previous 12-month telecoms bills, M&C Energy Group's senior analyst, Wanlapa Charoonthum, identified that savings could be made by changing supplier and looking at purchasing options for fixed lines, mobile phones and internet connections. Following Wanlapa's implementation, the Bangkok Post has achieved gross savings of 1.44 million baht per year on telecoms bills.

Mr. David Armstrong, President and Chief Operating Officer, commented, "We are delighted with the professionalism and the savings that M&C Energy Group has identified and achieved on our behalf. We feel confident that they will continue to identify areas of saving for us across other utilities areas and look forward to a long business relationship with them."
